Shadow Release
This painting began as my very first paint pour. When it dried, something unexpected appeared within the movement of the paint—tiny shapes that looked like birds emerging naturally from the layers.
Over time, I reimagined the original piece by adding texture, deeper shadows & additional birds. Yet the smallest birds remain exactly as they first appeared, formed entirely within the original pour.
The original artwork is black & white with a single touch of red, representing the hope and comforting presence often associated with a cardinal. Shadow Release holds a deeply personal meaning for me, but this is one piece I do not want to fully explain. I would rather allow each viewer to stand before it, follow the birds through the shadows & decide what release means to them.
As I began offering prints of my original artwork, I realized I could also create custom color variations to better complement the style and aesthetic of your home. For example, I added warmer gold tones to one version of Shadow Release. Similar color adjustments or filters can be applied to many of my other prints as well, and you will always have the opportunity to review and approve the finished version before it is sent for printing.
Available as a fine art print or canvas print, though I especially recommend the canvas because it beautifully highlights the depth, movement & texture of the artwork.
